New Hampshire

New Hampshire’s response to mosquito and tick-borne disease is shaped by strong local autonomy and resource constraints. Many towns are empowered to tailor vector control efforts to local needs, such as tourism or disease history, while state agencies provide support through mosquito testing and opportunities to connect and share information. Dedicated town health officers and staff work diligently within these limitations, maximizing their impact. However, variability in engagement and limited funding create challenges for consistent, statewide preparedness. Increased coordination and sustainable support could further strengthen the state’s capacity to respond as disease risks shift and expand.
