Please join us for the next installment of the NEWVEC Work in Progress Seminar Series. We will be welcoming Dr. Emily McDermott as she presents "Integrated, rapid response strategies for Asian longhorned ticks and theileriosis" on Wednesday, December 16 at 11AM.
Dr. McDermott is an Associate Professor of Medical and Veterinary Entomology at the University of Arkansas. Her research focuses primarily on the ecology and control of arthropod vectors of livestock pathogens, especially ticks and Culicoides biting midges. Originally from Cape Cod, MA, she received her PhD in entomology from the University of California, Riverside in 2016, and previously worked as Senior Scientist of the Vector Control Department at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, MD.
