Please join us for the next installment of the NEWVEC Work in Progress Seminar Series. We will be welcoming Dr. Sara Paull as she presents "NEON Vector and Pathogen Data: Emerging Findings and Opportunities from a National Disease Ecology Resource" on Wednesday, October 28 at 11AM.
Dr. Sara Paull is a disease ecologist who oversees the data associated with small mammal, mosquito and tick communities along with the associated pathogen datasets with the National Ecological Observatory Network. Her recent research projects include understanding the community ecology of mosquito viromes found in NEON archive samples as well as contributing to the modeling of NEON mosquito populations and phenology.
Sara received a B.A. from Dartmouth College and a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Boulder in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She focused on interdisciplinary research in climate and health during her post-doctoral work and her time as an Assistant Professor at the Colorado School of Public Health before returning to her Ecology roots at NEON. She has worked across several systems from macro-parasites to West Nile virus and topics including climate-driven changes to disease, heterogeneity in disease risk, and diversity-disease relationships.
